Orthotic Services

The service works very closely with the clinics other highly specialised therapists within the practice, to obtain the best evidence based, multidisciplinary approach to rehabilitation.



What are Orthotics?


Orthotics are externally worn devices that [insoles/knee braces etc] that assist body function to reduce biomechanical overload and aid rehabilitation and reduce the possibility of further injury.



Our Orthotist


Mike Vaughan is a senior Orthotist with 30 years experience in all areas of Orthotic services
and supply.


Mike brings his extensive clinical management experience to the clinic in the following areas

  • Sports Orthotics
  •  Lower Limb Biomechanics
  •  Treatment of Lower Limb Spasticity
  •  Dynamic Lycra Orthoses
  •  Custom Knee Bracing including skiing braces


The clinical conditions that may be treated using orthotics could include:


• Sports Injuries

• Foot pain and postural problems; (Metatarsalgia & Plantar Fasciitis for example)

• Knee pain due to patella mal tracking

• Shin pain, i.e. shin splints

• Tendonitis
